Even
though it can be a total time-suck, all the primping and pampering that
comes with being a woman is actually pretty awesome. To use one of our
favorite The Little Mermaid songs for inspiration, we've got mascara and bod scrubs aplenty, we've got lipstick and manis
galore! Is it really any wonder that men would be tempted to swipe some
of our stuff to experiment? We reached out to real guys for the deets
on which women's products they're so obsessed with, they're tempted to
actually go buy them for themselves.
"I have really frizzy curly hair, so I use Moroccan Oil. It's the
best for making my hair not look like I just stuck my finger in an
electrical socket." —Eric O.
"I don't even remember the brands, but I use a women's body
moisturizer so my skin doesn't feel scaly, especially in the winter.
Hand moisturizer to keep my hands looking young—they're the first thing
people notice to decipher if a person is older—and face moisturizer to
keep my skin tighter and firm. I just hate the itchiness and feel of dry
skin. I also use night cream to fend off wrinkles and reduce dark
circles around eyes. I like all of this stuff because I'm slightly vain
and need to preserve my boyish good looks for as long as possible." —Diego C.
"My sister had these pore strips once. It was kind of fun to see what
comes out, and knowing the stuff that came out was no longer there gave
me some satisfaction. I'd want to use them now if my wife brought them
home." —Dave R.
"Now that I'm married, I use whatever my wife brings home. She used
to use a St. Ives apricot cleanser, then she traded for this minty Biore
face wash. Now she's using an Oil of Olay Regenerist cream. Women's
products are just better. I think companies cater to specific types of
women, whereas for men it's one generic product, like one size fits all.
With women, there are so many different options! I think more R&D
goes into making them, and I want to take advantage of that." —T.J. A.
"I love stealing girls' lady razors. They're always conveniently on a
shower wall, right where you need them. I swear they're more
comfortable. I think guy razors are good for like three uses, but
women's last and just seem to work." —Nathaniel Z.
"Living in cold weather, I get such dry skin. Avon makes this really
great thermal face scrub that I like. It's friction-activated heating,
and it really exfoliates. It's nice that it's effective and neutrally
scented, so there's no overpowering Axe-like musk." —Logan T.
"My girlfriend and I just went on vacation to California. I usually
don't do spa stuff, but we wound up getting a couples' mud bath. It was
like sinking into a warm vat of jello. It brought me back to my
childhood of splashing around in mud and not caring about getting all
dirty, but then I got out and felt really clean. It won't be so hard to
convince me to go on a spa date next time." —Garrett B.
"I use Creme de la Mer for my skin. My mom sends it to me, but I live
by it. I never break out, and it smooths my overall skin tone. Plus, it
has no smell." —Matt J.
"I really like the tingly feeling from the grapefruit in Burt's Bees
Facial Cleansing Towelettes Pink Grapefruit. They make my face feel like
it's breathing through my pores. Plus, I just smell good after I use
it." —Andy G.
